Permissions:

Why does CellMapper require multiple permissions?

• "Make and manage phone calls" - This permission is necessary to obtain low-level network data from your device.
• "Access to device location" - In order to map and contribute accurately, we need to know the location from which the data was recorded on your device.

For older versions of Android, the following permissions are also required:

• android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION - To obtain CellID information
• android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION - To obtain GPS location
• android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - To obtain cellular network information
• android.permission.INTERNET - To connect to the server for downloading map data/uploading data
• android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - To write external CSV files in the absence of an internet connection
• android.permission.READ_LOGS - To read Samsung Field Test Mode data on Android 4.1 and earlier (Note: the app does not have access to your browsing history unless it is written to the system log by your browser)
• android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE - To read information about airplane mode/network settings
• android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - To start at boot time (if enabled)
• android.permission.VIBRATE - To vibrate on CellID change (if enabled)
• android.permission.WAKE_LOCK - For phones that do not support 4.2+ CellID Support, ensuring accurate data reporting
• android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - To write external CSV files and debug reports
